When you’re looking for a new job, it may seem as though your opportunities are limited to your current field. Believe it or not, though, there are several good careers you may be able to break into with your current qualifications. Here are four of the top jobs you might be qualified for without even realising it.
Car salesperson
If you have some sales experience and are a self-starter, you’re likely qualified to be a car salesperson. Car dealerships are always looking for dynamic, energetic people to add to their teams. Establishing yourself in this career will take a bit of time, but the earnings can be considerable once you’re up and running. Try to find a dealership that will guarantee you a minimum amount of income for your first year so that you can gradually build up to making a good living on your sales commissions.
Bank cashier
Working in a bank will provide you with a good income and excellent job stability. Becoming a cashier also doesn’t require any particularly specific qualifications. If you’re good with customer service and money handling, you likely have all the skills needed to become a cashier. This career also provides you some room for advancement into other parts of the finance industry.
Security guard
Becoming a security guard is one of the best ways to ensure you’ll always have job opportunities. In most cases, security guards don’t require specialised training or certification to perform their daily duties. Because facilities all across the country need in-person security, getting your foot in the door in this career will also give you a high degree of mobility should you ever choose to relocate.
Police officer
Contrary to popular belief, becoming a police officer doesn’t require you to go to university and earn a specialised degree. In fact, many police departments don’t require more than standard school qualifications to consider a candidate. While you will have to go through extensive training before you are formally made an officer, you’re likely qualified to at least begin the process. Becoming a police officer will ensure you a good rate of pay, good pension benefits and a relatively early retirement option.
Of course, there are many other jobs that you may be overlooking despite being qualified for. If you’re willing to think outside of the box, you should be able to find a good career to move into the next time you’re ready for a job change.
