Careers that have a need for technology degree holders offer a wide range of choices. This provides individuals flexibility to find positions and accommodate for different salaries, regions, industries, roles, and responsibilities. There are jobs with research and development, infrastructure design and maintenance, and administration, among others.

Here are seven high-demand positions all technology degree graduates should check out.

Computer programmer

This is a staple career within the technology space. Degree holders will write programs in a variety of codes or languages that integrate hardware with software which ensures seamless and responsive user experiences. Programmers are also responsible for fixing computer bugs and glitches. In essence, they translate the designs of software developers into languages computers use to operate.

Computer network architect

In the IT sector, architects are responsible for building the backbone for a computer infrastructure. They create a blueprint for data and phone communications and decide the type of network system needed (such as LAN Local Area Network, WAN Wide Area Network, intranet, or a combination of all of them). Inter-office, intra-office, and global frameworks are all within their purview.

Computer systems engineer

Once the programs are written and the system framework is in place, this expert monitors, detects, and develops plans and solutions. Their technical knowledge is used for guidance and troubleshooting within programs. They are also responsible for the system’s architectural reliability and security.

Software developer

This discipline works heavily with app and software design and development. They work in both the system and application level to deliver enhanced performance to their products. Beyond development, they alter or modify existing software to maximise efficiency of computer operations and work is available in various industries with small, to enterprise infrastructures and platforms. Utah software developers at Cogitech have software developers experienced in a variety of these development and engineer roles to make their products better.

Web developer

These professionals work to create and launch websites and after the launch, are responsible to maintain and back-up files, test functionality, create and edit content, and manage performance integrity. They also monitor storage capacity, website traffic, and user experience as needed. Additional responsibilities include employee and customer portal access and e-commerce platforms.

System administrator

The role of the system administrator may be found in the network or server capacity. The former has responsibilities to design, install, and support computer hardware such as routers for a business’s electronic information. Their specialty includes troubleshooting and problem resolution for the network. Server administrators configure and upgrade computer servers throughout the infrastructure, and additional responsibilities include installation, problem-solving issues, and developing security policies. They are the gatekeepers in charge of usernames and passwords.

Database administrator

This position is responsible for the integrity and security of stored information. This includes the categories of customer, employee, vendor, inventory, and others. They police usage, manage changes and upgrades, correct detected errors, and back-up data. They ensure there is adequate space in both the hardware and cloud ecosystems used.

Depending on the preference of the degree holder, a diverse selection of employment is available in technology. Focus on working at any stage of the IT framework, from development to administration to find a lucrative salary in every region and industry. A caveat is to focus on computer courses in development and engineering to broaden your possibilities.
