Maybe you’re reaching the end of your degree, or you’re just thinking about where to start. Maybe you’ve had a different career for 10 years and you fancy a change. Maybe you’ve always loved computers because you’re a lover of logic. If so, analytics may be the career path for you. This is a highly exciting career for anyone passionate for computers, whether you’re experienced or not.

Of course, if you want to put yourself in the best position to compete with others who are looking for jobs in this industry, you should work on your skill set ahead of that time. If you’re currently doing a degree in a computer-related science, take varied modules and ensure that you understand as many different aspects and languages of coding and development as your brain can handle.

If you’ve yet to choose a discipline at university, or if you’re thinking about leaving your current career and undertaking some form of training, there are degrees which can open a huge number of doors into the computing world. If you ever considered becoming a computer networking specialist, there are great courses out there which can put you not only on the right track to pick up that skill set, but the right track to catching the attention of the employers in that industry.

Web development or online marketing

This is a hugely exciting area for the majority of graduates or students who are keen on the area of computer science. Of course, the area of web design spans a huge industry. If you’re interested in front-end development, there are bountiful career opportunities available to you, but there are also opportunities for those with a creative flair in more of a written or marketing capacity.

The internet provides endless career opportunities for the tech-savvy. Whether you want to be coding websites, or promoting websites through SEO techniques and other content-related industry methods, there are some great job roles out there for you.

Don’t feel restricted by your discipline. University, or the course in which you might be hoping to enrol, is only one step on the journey to the career of your dreams. If you’re interested in computing and your degree shows that, employers will be keen to have you on board if you show some charisma, passion and general experience in multiple areas of computer science. It’s all about what you want out of the career.
